My break and 2019

1. This year for break I didn't do to much. I hung out with a lot of friends, got some really nice things for Christmas and saw my family. I did take my best-friend Gianna to Houston with me from the 27-29  to go see my moms side with me and that was super fun. On the 30th I exchanged presents with my boyfriend and he gave me a James Avery ring with my initial on it, and for New Years I spent midnight with him and his friends. I had off for cheer which was nice getting some time to relax my body.

2. My resolutions for 2019 are to get all A's, make the Bowie cheerleading squad, and get rid of all toxic people and focus on myself. Mostly the all A's because I didn't do so well this past semester and I'm ready to change that.

3. I'm looking forward to new friendships, new adventures, and a new me in 2019. This year will be my year and Im so excited for all the roller coasters I will get through this year.

Best of 2018

Best Song of 2018

I choose In My Blood by Shawn Mendes because I think this song helped so many people to finally have a song that goes into detail what anxiety is like in a song. It's a gorgeous song and Mendes talks about his struggles with anxiety. He wanted to relate a song to everyone and he did an amazing job. Not only did I choose this because of the meaning behind it, I picked this song because Shawn Mendes is my favorite artist and idol.

Best Movie of 2018

I picked this movie because even though I didn't find any really good movies that came out in 2018 this one was extremely funny. This girl finds out her boyfriend and her family are the richest family in Singapore, and it shows her adventure on getting the family and friends to accept her into the family. The story is a drama filled comedy that has some really sarcastic laughs in it.

Most Important Story of 2018

I think most people can agree that the Florida school shooting was the most eye opening, life changing story of the year. This shooting shows that we need better gun control and security in the country. 17 kids were killed, 17 families lost a loved one. It's a very heartbreaking event that has unfortunately has caused many protest over gun control.

Most Important Person of 2018

It sounds really cheesy to have your idol be my most important person of last year. Shawn Mendes came out with In My Blood which really helped me because he spoke out about anxiety. He also came out with several interviews talking about his confessions about himself, which taught me not to keep everything inside and it might be beneficial to someone if I let it all out. He also released a song with Kahlid called Youth which talks about all the shootings that have been going on, school shootings and many others like the Manchester attackImage result for sam ehlinger texas longhorns

Sports of 2018

Longhorns are back. The biggest sports time of 2018, we have had a couple rough seasons but finally were picking up the game again and doing amazing. This year we had freshman Sam Ehlinger as starting Quarterback who really helped us get to where we are now. This year we had 10-4 and won the Sugarbowl on January 1.

Favorite Photos of 2018

Joseph Wachira, 26, comforts Sudan, the last male Northern White Rhino on the planet, moments before he passed away in March.

I really like this photo because it is a photo of this Rhino's last moments of life. This should show everybody to stop killing Rhino's because this was the last Northern White Rhino.

Patrick Robinson of the Philadelphia Eagles is overcome after the team defeated the New England Patriots 44-31 in Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis on Feb. 4. The Eagles, led by backup quarterback Nick Foles, clinched the first Super Bowl title in franchise history, setting off confetti on the field and raucous celebrations back home.

This photo is amazing because it shows how happy Robinson was after winning, and you can tell this is his proud moment. Real success is displayed very well in this picture.

I remember watching a video of her speaking out about how she lost the tournament because the umpire declared she was cheating. I felt really sad yet proud for her, because she stood up in front of the world and told everyone the truth that she didn't cheat.

Finals Extra Credit

Extra Credit Questions

1. The man was pushed onto the tracks after he tried to calm down another many in the subway who was harassing other passerby's. The man was able to take the photo after trying to stop the . train using his flash on the camera.
2.  After not being able to pull the man up from the tracks he decided to grab his camera and take photos  in hope that the train driver would see the flash and try to stop the train.
3. I don't think he should've, he could have gotten at least one other person to try and help him up if he could no do it single handedly, he could've tried a lot harder to save this man from death.
4. Honestly he really should've tried to get someone else to help him or put all of his weight and strength into saving the mans life, instead of taking a couple photos to use flash. If he hadn't taken the photos maybe he'd still be alive because it's a lot easier to left someone up from the tracks instead of getting a train to stop in just a little bit.
5. I disagree, imagine how you would feel if your friend or loved one was all over the cover of a newspaper with a photo taken seconds before their death. It's quite disgusting and offensive, I found it really hard to even look at the photo, let alone read what the words on the front cover said.
6. It doesn't matter if your the most famous photo journalist in the world you never take photos of things like this instead of stopping death from an innocent man, I would never be able to live with the guilt for anymore than a second.
7. I do not, at all think it's ever okay to ethically involve yourself in these kinds of situations for photos, it's gross and rude.
8. Yes, because what if something like this happens again, a photographer might think of taking a good photo instead of helping the situation because oh you'll at least get a good photo.
9. The response "I don’t believe a word of that photographer crap. He didn’t even try to help the guy get back on the platform. His first instinct was to take pictures, and that’s exactly what he did, because that’s what they do. He wasn’t out to “warn” the conductor, what a lame excuse for not helping. Well, he got his pictures. Everyone “gasped” – and no one helped. The guy looks skinny, couldn’t lift him up? Bull. And HE was actually trying to help THEM from the lunatic![#]" was the best response because it describes how everyone is probably feeling to this incident.

4 Websites

Photography Resolutions for 2018

This website I got to read about what this one photographer wanted to see themselves do in the New Year, which was a bunch of photography resolutions. They also uploaded really gorgeous photos he took during the year.

My favorite goal was Number 1 which was stop hiding behind self doubt. I learned that  you will never be 100% confident in what you put out in the world but you need to accept that you know yourself better and f you love it then you shouldn't care what other people think about it.

a) I chose this photo because I love how simple it is with only the mountains and the clouds, I think they add very subtle dimension and it's really gorgeous.

b)I think this photo follows the rule of lines because the lines of the road direct the photo towards the middle and to the end of the picture.

c) The photographer is Jenna Martin

The Oldest Living Things in The World

A photographer spent years and years researching and documenting and taking photos of the long living things on earth. They worked with biologists and researchers and traveled the world to take the most amazing photos of 2000 plus living organisms.

a) I picked this photo because the bright turquoise and the Icy mountains in the back drew my attention. This picture has so much characterization and gives off a really bold and relaxing vibe with it.

b) This photos uses creating depth because the mountains are in layers. Theres the really close dark one then the white one which is a little farther back, and then the one covered by all the clouds in the very back.

c) The photographer is Rachel Sussman

Photos Everyone Should Know How to Make

This website was talking about different types of photos every photographer should know how to make due to editing the photo. The photographer described how to edit each photo like they did and how and when they could use it.

a) I chose this photograph because I really like how the pink pops against the dark shades of blue. I also thought the reflection in the water from the trees was really pretty and ghostly looking, which is a really cool effect.

b) I think this photo creates depth by the way the pink trees range from different shades as the path goes down and how the middle of the river is a very dark color.

c) The photographer is Jeff Meyer

Projector Brought Into the Forest

A couple of phtographers went out to a forest and spent 6 weeks illuminating various things by using a projector. They took several photos and showed videos on how the set it up and videos on the outcome of everything.

a) I picked this photo because I love how the orange really brings pops out because the rest of the photo is very dark, it kind of looks like the tree is on fire, which is a really cool effect.

b) I think this photos shows the rule of framing. The darkness of the sky, leaves and tree surrounds the small, scattered amongst the leaves which is framing the orange details.

c) the photographer is Tarek Mawad and animator is Friedrich Van Schoor

Ethics In Fashion Photography

Ethics In Fashion Photography

1. They changes the length of her neck, the color of her eyes, the shape of her lips, they made her eyes bigger. Gave her a more bony, structured facial structure.

2. Length of her legs, size of her butt, made her stomach flatter, changes her skin tone, the size of het feet, how long her neck was. They even changed the size of her feet and how pointy her shoulders were.

3. They changed her whole appearance by changing her body structure completely by changing skin color, length and width or every part of her body . Going from a pizza to a woman.

4. I don't think it is ethnically acceptable to change anyone in a photo in the ways we were showed today in the three videos. It's completely false advertising and showing woman what they're supposed to look like which is these impossible, unchangeable features.

5. I think in some circumstances it could be, like if the lady had scars all over her body and they just removed it from the photo.

6. Changes that are okay is probably changing the skin ton a little, touching up some imperfections, just small un-noticeable things.

7. photojournalism is taking photos and writing about them but photography is the art of taking photos

8.

9. So that you can teach us what is right and wrong when we are photoshopping photos of our own, and how far is to far.

10. I think there are no videos of guys because it's more common to change how a women looks for appeal
