Beatles Pillow Fight

The Pillow Fight

1) I picked this photo because I've heard a lot about how iconic it is. Me and my dad love the Beatles so when I saw this picture as an option I knew I had to do it. I also really love how the photo looks like stages of the pillow fight and that really drew my eye to it
2) This photo was taken at he George V Hotel the night that the band found out that their song "I Want To Hold Your Hand" hit Number 1 in the US. The picture is frozen on the members John, Paul, Ringo and George in the middle of a pillow fight. It shows how much happiness was filling the room and the joy that was embraced within the four.
3) Mr. Benson the photographer talked about how he felt like this photo help the overall mood of the people in the US after John F Kennedys assassination.
4)The Beatles and Cassius Clay, 5th street Gym, Miami, 1964.

ISO

ISO
Image result for photo taken at ISO 200
a) you should use a high ISO because when it's higher it takes better motion pictures and will brighten the photo if it is dark out
b) you should use low ISO when theres enough light in the photo so still clearly see it
c) you should use high ISO when its pretty dark out and a lot is happening in a picture

Manual - with manual you choose the shutter speed and aperture
Aperture Priority - the camera picks the shutter speed automatically

Aperture

Aperture

a)We should relate our pupils to aperture and how they shrink and get bigger when exposed to light and dark
b)The smaller the aperture the darker the photo, the bigger the aperture the lighter a photo is
c)Aperture impacts Depth of Field by changing how sharp or blurred the photo is from front to back

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

a) A lot of what I've read has talked about how easy its gotten to manipulate or change a photo over the years. Just about anyone could manipulate a photo and make it look real and unedited. Theres a lot of photos nowadays that are edited very unethical.

b) I think the philosophy of newspapers is to have every photographer, writer and editor set with certain ground rules and guild-lines so that the newspaper (ones like The Washington Post) are seen and portrayed in a certain aesthetic.

c) It's definitely okay to manipulate a photo to certain extents and with permission of the person who's photo you want to change. If you haven't asked the person who's photo your changing or your putting a new head or new smile on that person I think you've crossed the line because thats pretty excessive for a photo.

couric12d) I think this probably one of the most unethical, even though taking into consideration most of them are pretty bad. I think its horrible that people feel the need to change the bodies and 'flaws' off of women just to be able to put the photo up. The lady obviously looks perfectly fine in the original photo. If they had just touched up the photo it would've been fine but they slimmed her down a lot, so much they changed her whole figure.

kerryfonda123e) I think this photo is the most ethical because they took two photos and merged them together. They didn't change the look os focus of anything and kept everyone's figure the same so I think this one is ok

Academic Shoot Reflection and Critique

Academic Shoot Reflection and Critique

1. It was kind of hard to follow the set rules we were given because there was either so much or so little going on in each classroom. So sometimes it was so chaotic and other times it was just a bore fest

2. The fact that i always had to zoom and focus photos. I always either do to much zoom or not enough. And I always over or under focus my photos.

3. I would change everything. Where I went, how i positioned the camera, just all of of. I wasn't satisfied with a single photo I took yesterday.

4. I mean I wouldn't keep anything the same, at all

5. I think I would be able to follow the rule of filling the fame much better, now that I Really understand it.

6. I think simplicity was the hardest to capture because theres a lot that goes on in school. The walls are covered in things and theres always so many students in every photo.

7. I'm not totally clear on Lines because, I get you need lines but what kind of lines, where should they be placed, Should the lines be the whole photo or just the main subject of many subjects, does there need to be a simple background or a busy one???

1. I was trying to go for rule of thirds and the cup with the egg was supposed to be in the lower left area but it turned out to be more in the middle
2. the subject is Lila writing on her cup with the egg
3. I think it is very clear to see what the subject of this photo is

1. In this photo i didn't really go for a rule, i just wanted these two students to be the main focus
2. The subject is Lily smiling and Taj looking confused with the experiment equipment
3. Its pretty clear when looking at my photo to see the main subject, especially Lily smiling, she really takes all main focus

1. I wanted to go for a different way of framing. I wanted the people to kind of frame the game they were playing, but it didn't quite turn out the way I wanted
2. The main subject is the game but you cant really tell that it is
3. I don't think people will be able to tell what the main subject
4. I think i could have positioned the camera to where the photo is mainly the game with a lower shot of the people playing it

1. I went for rule of thirds and i think it came out pretty good to me
2. The main subject is Parker playing the game in science
3. I think it is very clear to see what he main subject is to someone who had to guess what it was

Prompt Shoot Inspiration

1. I think this photo has a good story behind it and shows a lot about the mood and inspiration towards football

2. I personally think its a very good photo but I'm pretty sure this is unfortunately a merger photo because it does fit any rules of photos

1. I also like the story behind this photo. both shows true love and passion towards football and it gives off a really good and sad vibe

2. I think this photo is rule of thirds, no not focusing on the sad player and police officer but the scores in the back, the upper right hand corner

3. The football field and classrooms and try to recreate these images

4. I want to go in classrooms in E hall or some fine art classrooms

5. I will try to find a story and purpose for every photo because I think thats the best thing a photographer can reach for, for an amazing photo

Academic Shoot Preview

The Story

I think photo tells a really great story, the kind of story that you can make up yourself. These students, they're seniors, about to graduate and start their adulthood life. Graduation in just 2 days, only a couple more days to really have fun in school before their whole childhood is washed away. They spend it playing one of the worlds best games from elementary school trying to relive when they were younger.

Action and Emotion

This girls face says it all. The expression . on her face shows how much fun she's trying to have, and she is. Excited to go off to college but even more excited for the next two days having endless fun. The action, up in the air she goes with a number of students tossing her high into the air, high into the future.

Filling The Frame

This photo is a couple of kids in their welding class making new amazing things. The story of what their making fills this frame. And the sparks, the sparks resemble of life in the kids who are creative and excited about learning to make new stuff and be prepared to show off whatever their minds have created.
